Today, I read an article that was so well-written, I felt I had to share it.

Many teachers and parents have become increasingly concerned with the level of education that the children of the U.S are receiving. The teachers are frustrated with many of the policies in place, the lack of respect and the lack of support that they are given. Parents are concerned with what their children are/aren’t learning. Are they learning empathy and social skills, while at the same time mastering the standards and creating a strong foundation in Math, Reading, etc?

I feel as though teachers and parents have every right to be concerned. Teachers should be frustrated with the policies, lack of respect and support. And parents should be worried about what their child is/isn’t learning in school. Teachers are amazing people, but they can only do so much with the education they received and the tools they are given.

This article articulates what is going on in the US education system so well. Generally, when I read an article about the struggles of education, I end up feeling overwhelmed and lost for answers. You will find that this article is different. It clearly states the issues, and also suggests ways to improve the system.

I highly recommend this article to anyone who is at all interested in the education system of the United States.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
